The location was perfect for me with excellent proximity to where I do my work in Swargashram and Ram Jhula.
There was also a small safe in the room, which I found most helpful, although it probably was not needed as a few days I left a tip out for the staff and found it there every time I returned! I finally had to discuss it with the manager and he said it is best just to tip at the end, which I did most gratefully. The bed was comfortable with a mattress topper and excellent quality linens. My room had an excellent heater and small refrigerator, as well as an electric kettle, coffee, and tea. The internet was fast and reliable, so I was able to work online, and they have a good backup generator for power outages. Also, they had excellent paranthas, chole, dal fry, and kitchari - perfectly spiced. My favorites were the hummus plate with falafel and the spinach soup. Many times they brought it to my room so that I could continue working. They did not always have everything on the menu, and there were certain times of the day where the cook was not present, but I really preferred to eat there as often as possible. However, each time they did a thorough cleaning and the room was fresh and new, meeting very high standards.
At times, I just asked them to replace towels, or clean the floor (it gets muddy in Rishikesh). Since I was there for almost four weeks, I did not require daily cleaning. Secondly, I have to mention that they really know how to clean a room. From the manager Satish, who was the consummate professional, to the servers in the restaurant, to the cleaning folks, I was treated so very well every day. The entire staff is to be commended on their helpfulness whenever I needed the slightest thing. Immediately, I was welcomed there and every day since. I knew this experience was going to be wonderful from the day I arrived.
